Welcome

If you or someone you love suffers from untreated substance abuse and/or
psychiatric problems you understand the chaos and disruption these
disorders bring to daily life.

At Lifeskills we specialize in meeting the complex needs of adults with co-occurring disorders. We provide real solutions for real life that are focused on a future of long-term recovery. Lifeskills’ patients work through the dysfunction that accommpanies addiction and psychiatric illness on a daily basis in a realistic living setting with the help of intensive treatment and expert staff. The goal of treatment at Lifeskills is a successful transition back to home, work, and family life with patients having new-found self-esteem, direction, and control.

CONSIDER LIFESKILLS…

After Inpatient Care… Treatment at Lifeskills is often the next-step in the recovery process for adults who have been hospitalized for psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders. Lifeskills provides a “safe haven” where coping skills and behaviors can be tried and tested in a therapeutic and compassionate environment.

For Treatment for Both Co-occurring Disorders… Lifeskills is an excellent option for adults who have received treatment for one, but not both, co-occurring disorders. At Lifeskills we consider both the psychiatric and the substance abuse diagnoses to be primary, and treat both concurrently. Lifeskills’ patients commonly suffer from a combination of the following disorders:
  • Polysubstance Abuse & Dependence
  • Bipolar and Other Mood Disorders
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
  • Eating Disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, or Compulsive Overeating)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorders
  • Severe Personality Disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Schizoaffective and Schizotypal Disorders

As an Alternative to Inpatient Treatment… Individuals who do not require constant medical monitoring or acute detoxification, often choose Lifeskills as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. Many find the less-restrictive setting, and opportunity to become a part of an active therapeutic community more conducive to their own personal recovery programs.
