Cesar L. Benarroche, M.D. is a Board certified psychiatrist with over 20 years of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, teaching, and research experience. Dr. Benarroche was a faculty member at Yale University's Department of Psychiatry for nine years. Dr. Benarroche's clinical research focus has been on the role of neurobiology in the behavioral manifestations of anxiety, compulsive, and dual-diagnosis disorders. Dr. Benarroche is an active member of the American Association of Addiction Psychiatrists, and the American Academy of Addiction Medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Charles S. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University.

Michael Gillis, MSW received his Master of Social Work Degree from Boston University in 1999 and has been working in the field of Mental Health since 1990. He began his career working as a community specialist for the Substance Abuse and Psychiatric Division of The Mediplex Group, Inc. and then was promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications in the Medical and Rehabilitation Division. Michael's clinical experience includes working as an Employee Assistance Professional for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the oldest EAP in the country, as well as a family therapist for Renaissance Institute of Palm Beach. Michael also has extensive Marketing experience holding the positions of Director of Clinical Outreach for Bridges to Recovery, a private Los Angeles based facility specializing in trauma based disorders, and Director of Admissions and Marketing for Lifeskills of Boca Raton.

Nancy Ewing, MS, Ed, MAC, CAP - Clinical Director - has worked in both the psychiatric and substance abuse treatment field for over 22 years as a clinician and administrator. Her areas of clinical specialization include family work, treating survivors of sexual abuse, trauma recovery, addiction and eating disorders treatment. Nancy is certified as an addictions counselor in both Florida and New York. In addition, she has national and international certifications. Nancy has presented workshops, trainings and seminars in both the US and UK. She is a Florida resident since 1996 working for treatment centers and operating her own private practice.

Robin Mastroni, MSW, LCSW - Director of Clinical Outreach & Marketing - received her B.A. in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Social Work from Widener University. Robin is licensed in Clinical Social Work, and has extensive experience working as a Clinical and Administrative Director, Psychotherapist, Intake and Admissions Coordinator and Discharge Coordinator in Inpatient, Partial Hospital and Outpatient levels of care. She also has a breadth of experience marketing in the field of metal health and has worked as a clinical outreach coordinator for both Sierra Tucson and The Renfrew Center. She is a member of the National Association for Social Work and The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.

Paul Adams, MS, CAC - Director of Admissions - holds a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. He has more than a decade of experience working with dually diagnosed patients and their families in both residential and outpatient settings. Paul has extensive experience in all facets of patient care, from screening and assessment, to treatment planning, group and individual counseling, and case management. He has been a Certified Addictions Counselor since 1996 and has training in the treatment of compulsive gambling.

S. Roy Erlichman, LMFT, PhD, CAP, CEDS - Clinical Consultant - is a partner in ERE Associates, with offices in Palm Beach Gardens and South Miami, Florida and holds degrees in both psychology and family therapy. He is a Certified Addictions Professional, Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and an approved supervisor through the International Association of Eating Disorders (IAEDP). Dr. Erlichman has served as president of the board of directors of IAEDP and continues to be involved with the organization. He is a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis and completed the certification program in family therapy at the Department of Family Psychiatry at Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Erlichman is a frequent presenter at eating disorders conferences throughout the country. He has written various professional articles and appeared on many television and radio programs. His daily work is dedicated to the practice of psychotherapy and the clinical supervision of other professionals.

Laura Durant, LMHC - Primary Therapist - holds a Master of Counseling degree and has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1991. Her experience includes working with chemical dependency, dual-diagnosis, trauma and family issues. Laura is a trauma specialist and focuses on the needs of adult survivors of trauma. She also has training in facilitating art expressions and relapse prevention strategies.

Henah Gupta, MS, PhD - Primary Therapist - received both her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Her areas of specialization include the treatment of trauma, substance abuse, mood, developmental, personality and eating disorders. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, residential treatment, outpatient clinics and day treatment programs. Henah brings many years of experience working with culturally diverse populations and subscribes to a multidisciplinary treatment approach to patient well-being. Her work in research has resulted in an increased understanding in the treatment of trauma in children and adolescents. Prior to joining Lifeskills, Henah held various clinical positions at The Renfrew Center. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.

Anna P. Traylor, PsyD - Primary Therapist - received her doctorate in psychology from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, and has experience assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings. Dr. Traylor completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Astor Home for Children in New York and postdoctoral fellowship at Two Brattle Center in Cambridge, MA. Bringing to Lifeskills her extensive training in psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modes of group and individual treatment, Dr. Traylor is particularly interested in working with dual-diagnoses, trauma and dissociation, self-injury, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Brett Passeroff, MSW - Family Therapist - received a Master of Social Work degree from Barry University and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Brett has worked with dually diagnosed patients for the past decade. His focus of practice is treating addiction and mental health issues using a family systemic approach. In addition, Brett has extensive experience in working with individuals and families in residential treatment settings. Prior to joining Lifeskills, Brett held clinical positions at Renaissance Institute of Palm Beach and South County Mental Health Center. |

Katina E. Rikas, MS, LMHC - Director of Residential Services - has worked in the field of addiction and mental health treatment for over twenty years. She has held various positions as Clinical Director, primary therapist and Director of Outpatient Services. Katina is unique in that she excels as an administrator, clinician, case manager and trainer. As the Director of Residential Services, she functions as a liaison between the residential, outpatient and transitional components of treatment.

Tom Lewis, MS, LMHC, CAP - Director of Outpatient Services - is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional and holds a master's degree in Substance Abuse Education and Counseling. He has worked extensively with individuals with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential and outpatient levels of care. Tom uses an eclectic approach to treatment and as a professional musician, incorporates music into his practice.

Michelle Williams, RN - Program Nurse - is a certified psychiatric registered nurse. She has been working with individuals with chemical dependency, mood and thought disorders, eating disorders and personality disorders since 1983. Michelle has worked in primary care, outpatient and long-term settings.

Karen M. Gauci - MPH, RD, LD - Dietitian - is a registered and licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist, with a master's degree in public health and is currently in private practice in Boca Raton, Florida. She is the owner and president of 2001 Nutrition Services, Inc. She specializes in the following areas related to nutrition: nutrition education/counseling; weight management; chronic disease; risk reduction/health promotion and wellness; sports nutrition; pediatrics; eating disorders; local and national presentations; substance abuse; and psychiatric disorders. She is also a published author in the areas of nutrition and weight loss.

Jacquelyn Fetzer - Admissions Coordinator - has worked for Lifeskills since 2002 starting as residential staff member. Currently, she coordinates activities for patients, facilitates an alumni group and assists the Director of Admissions.
